North Carolina: Medical Marijuana Legislation Filed

Posted by on February 23, 2017

Rep. John Autry has filed legislation to legalize medical marijuana. HB 185 establishes a program that includes a large variety of debilitating medical conditions.

The bill allows patients to possess up to 24 ounces and for growers to occupy a space “of not more than 250 feet of total garden canopy.” In addition, HB 185 establishes a regulatory network for dispensaries.

Twenty-nine states and the District of Columbia have enacted statewide provisions allowing patients access to cannabis therapy. North Carolina patients deserve these same protections.
